The Law
Our hearts contrive
In foolish pride
We build our walls tall
And when we stand
In arrogance
In humility we fall
The law is set
Without regret
Or regard to human endeavor
As foretold
In days of old
We shall come forth as gold
Our hearts despise
Others' lies
Yet we sow our own
And when we rise
To justify
Our wickedness is shown
The law is iron
Despite our trying
To rage against the cage
Day by day
We find our way
Closer to His glory
Our minds expand
With sinister plans
What we thought was wrought
And when we lie
In our hole
The lesson has been taught
The law lives on
After we're gone
Never has a tittle changed
We ascend
While we wend
Through our lives deranged
In foolish pride
We build our walls tall
And when we stand
In arrogance
In humility we fall
The law is set
Without regret
Or regard to human endeavor
As foretold
In days of old
We shall come forth as gold
Our hearts despise
Others' lies
Yet we sow our own
And when we rise
To justify
Our wickedness is shown
The law is iron
Despite our trying
To rage against the cage
Day by day
We find our way
Closer to His glory
Our minds expand
With sinister plans
What we thought was wrought
And when we lie
In our hole
The lesson has been taught
The law lives on
After we're gone
Never has a tittle changed
We ascend
While we wend
Through our lives deranged
